Another week, another bunch of violative products found on online marketplaces.

Last month in California, three people died in a house fire ignited by a lithium-ion battery in an e-bike. The victims included a great-grandmother, a grandmother, and a six-year-old girl who left behind her twin sister.

It’s playground safety week at CPSC. One often overlooked hazard: the large rolling gates that can be installed next to playgrounds and schools.

Congress passed the STURDY Act in 2022 to prevent the hazards that arise when dressers tip over and yet online marketplaces continue to host sellers that offer dressers that don’t comply with the law. They should stop sellers from listing violative products! cpsc.gov/Recalls/2025...
