my issue with a lot of doll backpacks/carriers is that they tend to be super childish cutesy or EGL, which i think is very cute but i personally wouldn't carry around... i saw a very cute trinket tote recently but thought that my smaller dolls might get hurt if i carried them around all the time

i think it's funny there's been an increase in 'gently smiling with smiling eyes' sculpts lately... (i still think Wei bjd did it best with Jiujiu)

things i don't love in BJDs: -trends toward fetishy POC dolls, tho thankfully that's on the decline with more artists of color coming onto the scene -cosplay issues of 15 yrs ago are still an issue with dolls, ie: nazi/fascist clothing and super orientalist belly dancer shit

i love the styling on these indie artist dolls but i don't think i'm interested in these hyper thin dolls anymore (even for Almondine i'm glad she's the only super thin character i wanted to shell) it's great for articulation obviously but just not for me (doll by Tamikan Space)

also working with a friend on a custom doll project i don't wanna give too much away about but..

atm i have these dolls as projects i'd like to complete: 1. devil girl 2. my morningstar amanita who will be my pink mi'quote 3. my Nana troll doll 4. the upcoming oil painting body and whichever head suits it best devil girl will take the most work, but Nana still needs her hands/feet sculpted

this is another project i'm gonna work on in my leisure time: a Forest Doll cartoon body (i forget what the head is called) that's about to be sent off to be dyed red to match the hands! since the hands are in red, i decided i'm turning this gal into a devil girl, so after dye i'll sculpt on horns!
