In Diddy Kong Racing DS, the message when connection is lost during Download Play is "LOST ALL CHILDREN". The cartridge is internally called a "parent" and the downloaded instances its "children". While this would make sense to the developers, it has the potential to confuse or scare players.

If there's one criticism i'd give for Fatal Fury City of the Wolves, it's that everyone's rev blow is way too similar. I would've thought for mr big they'd make his the move where he spins, but from footage i saw, it's just another one that moves you forward and does a hit.

I wonder how much the guy who composed the music for the "you wouldn't steal a car" dvd bumper got paid 🤔

Watched The Howling for the first time tonight. There's one "jumpscare" in that film where if it was done by any other director i'd be mad at it but because it's Joe Dante i can only go like "ha ha oh silly Joe, you got me good with that one"

I've been playing Kirby Planet Robobot again as of late. I kinda wish the Robobot Armour became a mainstay of the series tbh, because having a what is effectively a metal slug that has it's OWN copy ability seperate from Kirby's is really clever and means that puzzles don't force ability switching.

In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Mario and Luigi's level-up stat gains are bizarrely based on what level Bowser is currently at. If he is at a "good" level, they will be several times more powerful. The game does not tell you which levels are good and which are bad.

Played some Dragon Ball Fighter Z with a friend of mine today. Hadn't played it in like 5 years, but still had a blast! It kinda reminds me of Virtua Fighter a bit in how it's structured where it's not really about motion inputs but more about timing your buttons properly to perform moves.

I played some Neo Geo Battle Coliseum with a friend of mine today. It was at precisely this moment where he said to me "That was the silliest sequence i've ever seen in a fighting game" to which i think i have to agree with him on

You know, it only really just dawned on me while playing it a bit tonight how good Neo Geo Battle Coliseum's roster is. Most of the characters an SNK fan would want are just in the game, there's only really a few exceptions i can think of (i STILL don't get why the Ikari Warriors aren't in it)

I've been playing #KirbyAirRiders a bit more and i gotta say, it really feels like people don't know how City Trial works considering my win/loss ratio. I've gotten a placing less than 2nd exactly 1 time! And a placing less than 1st like three times! And this is over a hundred matches!

Something I don't really talk about all that often is how i love really well done horror art ("art" in the general sense of the word). Which is a problem, because a lot of more recent horror experiences don't really do it for me. I hate jumpscares most of the time, for example.

Feeling a bit bummed out by Kirby Air Riders right now, it doesn't feel as fast as they made it look, unfortunately. Equally as unfortunate is that i have a suspicision that it's another Switch 1 game they upscaled (i say this because it made me feel ill the same way DK Bananza's upscaling did).

In Donkey Kong Country 2, it is possible to trap Diddy Kong in a state of eternal horror. Hitting K. Rool with a team-up throw in a specific manner will cause Diddy's eyes to pop out in shock; however, he will never recover and stay in this state until the game is reset.

Had a real funny #dream last night. I intended to play a prank on a friend by swapping their favorite cd in their cd rack with a single of "The End" by The Doors. However, it turned out a Polysics-like band was loaning said cd to sample at a concert that night.

Frankly, this is just horrid posture

Just beat the new Onion Games game, Stray Children. Very great! It takes a bit to thematically feel like something they'd make but eventually it gets there and really nails the landing on it. I highly recommend it with a small note of "this game WILL frustrate you at points"

That ghosts and goblins street fighter 6 event is really bummin me out a little man. Because on the one hand, it looks cool as hell and i want a ghouls and ghost challenger noise but on the other hand, doing so requires PLAYING sf6, which i don't want to do in the slightest.

It's a shame that #CityoftheWolves gets played in fairly obnoxious ways. A lot of people seem to really like to spam the back jump air projectile Rock has but not seem to realise that given the right hit, he can do a lot of cool things.

Finally finished this little self-portrait of myself i've been working on, the design of which is no way inspired by characters that could rhyme with "Berry Togard" or "Hock Roward" no sir (yes sir)

Beem watching the Sam & Max tv series again. That show has got some really funny stuff in it, i'd recommend it.

Been reading a Superman omnibus that contains the stories Grant Morrison wrote as of late. I've been really enjoying it so far, it seems like Morrison has a really good grasp on what makes Superman appealing as a character.

I've been playing the new pokemon a little bit. I think it's combat is neat, i like the idea of the pokeball being a means to end wild battles being a lot more emphasised.

Here's an interesting philosophical question: How much of what people call depression is just a form of like, some kind of "super empathy"? Or, i guess a better way of wording that would be: how many types of depression are just a kind of super empathy?

I dunno if i'm gonna get that new #pokemon game. Not because it's too expensive or anything (which it certaintly is) but because i don't know if you can still chuck a pokeball the length of a basketball court and catch a monster like in the Sinnoh one they did.

#DreamJournal Had a really spooky one last night. For some reason i was a priest in a fairly old church that had a house attached to it. Occassionally the church bells would ring on their own, so i'd get out of bed to check them.

I think if someone ever wants to seen if they have what i refer to as "Game Design Brain" they should make some DND homebrew. I'm not joking here btw, i've been making a subclass for a friend and it's a similar workflow to how my other game design projects go. Best part is, it's (kinda) free to do!

Went bowling today. The place we went to also had a Daytona USA machine but one of the sides was dead so we had to take turns. Still fun as hell though, both the bowling and Daytona.

I feel like Mario Maker is one of those games that i occassionally get phases for like a "oh i guess i'm playing mario maker for a month" type of deal. I still really hope they make a 3rd one at some point. Still weirds me out how 2 has "extra game STYLES" and they never did anything with it tho.

I just watched the James Gunn #Superman movie. What a neat little film that was.
