Did anyone else catch @kairyssdal.bsky.social's Marketplace report last night with the guys who blithely chuckled as they described how same/similar financial instruments that destroyed US lives by creating the housing crisis are now being used to finance data centers? Fraud pays for data predation.

Who should be a US citizen? People who want to come here and live a good life. Really, that takes in nearly all immigrants. Are there exploitative jerks who want to come here and wreak havoc? Well, yes, somehow Murdoch and Musk slipped through. So that system needs work. But most are solid humans.

For those who enjoy analogies: Building data centers is equivalent to setting up a fence-free farm for leopards who eat people, faces and all. Then paying for power and water, and, instead of using them, sending the leopard breeders all of our power and water so the predators can eat us faster.

On the 1-year anniversary of Syria ousting Assad, Americans need to look very carefully at Syria. It is never enough to end an illegitimate regime. Life never "returns to normal." We must decide what EXACTLY we want afterward--in great detail--and amass support. Chaos will otherwise ensue. 🧵

The point of the regime refusing to fund SNAP benefits is to precipitate a crisis. They want people hungry enough to loot grocery stores, so the military can be called out to "quell the riots." It is cynical beyond belief. Feed your neighbors to save the nation. Do not give in. #RESIST
