Rayman pouts, but it's hard to be truly mad when he can feel her concern for him. She always struck him as the Sour Patch Kid type; first they're sour, then they're sweet. "I dunno what it accomplishes besides getting people all worked up," he sighs. "I don't think anyone can undo this."

I take a dose of truth serum and THAT'S what you ask me? [Snort.] You're silly, 'Mesis.

Umm! No. They wanted to... Oh dear. [Rayman is restless, caught between needing to get out and needing stability. He stands again, legs wobbling like the day he awoke with them.] I uh... L-Let's go. I'll... I'll work on this later.

Oh. Rayman's eyes begin to water. "Th... That's really nice of you." He picks up the brioche and nibbles it. He hasn't gotten a gift in a while, he realizes, and it pulls his tender heartstrings. "ThanKS," he squeaks out.

Slowly, it starts to become clear that Rayman isn't gonna succeed. He sighs and kicks at the ground. "…Fine. You win." Whatever she's about to win, he has no idea, but it beats what he had planned. "I got trapped in the Cave of Bad Dreams. It does things to you when you're filled with nightmares."

[It's sudden, and though it's funny in the long run, it terrifies Rayman. He just did something to hurt someone precious to him, and he couldn't even realize it as it was happening. Trembling, he pulls away and holds his head in his hands.] Wh-Wha... ah... [What were they just talking about? He ⤵️

"I like bread," he chirps. "Don't worry about it, I can handle things that make me feel like I wanna explode and die!" Uh-oh sisters. That last line wasn't supposed to come out of his mouth. This truth serum has hands.

He doesn't. Rayman lowers his gaze, finally backing down from his insane position about his safety. How long has he caused Edge to lament over him...? Rayman has no words worthy enough to apologize with, and so, he says nothing.

"It sucks balls in hell!" That was easy.

"Then why's it take an emergency to make you care?!" Rayman snaps. "Why don't you make a freakin' 𝐄𝐅𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓 for 𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄 in your life?!" They're both saying things they'll regret. This one will haunt Rayman once the rage is gone.

[Can he? Can he make it?] ...... [Rayman turns. Silent. Eyes drooping. His mind is a haze. He remembers dark specters crawling across his vision… [He remembers Jano. He remembers a wide, open maw chomping away at his flesh. [He doesn't remember grabbing Raymesis by the hair and biting his nose.]

"I'm not a 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙, dammit!" Rayman snaps. If anything gets him, it's being coddled. She's on the fast track to a full meltdown from yours truly. "You don't tell me shit about whatever 𝙔𝙊𝙐 do, anyway! So why should I?!"

[He still feels it. That pain still crushes him. Rayman leans into the touch.] We gotta get outta here... but I... [Where do they go from here? Will he be safe? Raymesis is strong, but easy to distinguish as an alien lifeform to these people.] ...Can't...

Rayman has had enough. "You don't have any idea what you're sticking your tiny little nose into, 𝙡𝙖𝙥𝙞𝙣. You think I'm gonna let someone else handle my business? When I keep getting screwed over 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄?"

[Unfortunate, then, that Rayman is going to be very distressed. He clings to one of the cell bars, gasping for breath.] Oh man... I feel like... I'm gonna be sick... [He used to be able to do that with his hand, too, didn't he? Once upon a time, he had that freedom, right?]

"Spill my guts? Sure. I'll gag myself right in front of ya." How absolutely vulgar! What in the world has gotten into him?! "I'm serious, Edge. 𝘽𝙪𝙩𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙩."

[The squeeze helps, but Rayman makes a sudden jolting movement when Raymesis's hand comes into view. Something about it is... It's surreal in a bad way. It makes him feel like he's falling apart.] A-Aaah... [Slowly, he sinks to the floor to keep himself from collapsing suddenly.] Wha... hah...
