It can be difficult seeing other authors doing so well. They post about their thousands of sales, all their awards... and you want to be supportive, so all you can say is "Congrats!" or "I'm happy for you!" But inside you're asking "Why can't it be me?"

Spending my afternoon playing Dragon Quest Monsters 3 on the switch while watching my wife play Outer Worlds on our TV while we just visit and hang out together. I have a lot of stress and frustration in my life, but this is one of those times where I truly see how lucky I am.

Well, that's enough self-pity. The event sucked, but I'm ready to move on. "Oathbound" needs to be edited, my third book needs a finished draft, and "Legend of the Defiler" still deserves to be out there. My books are good. I won't stop trying, and I will not be broken.
