Man I just adore my switch 2. While the switch 1 was super playable as a hybrid device, it admittedly fell short graphically in comparison to other systems. The Switch 2 is a perfect balance between portability and technical ability. Fallout 4 portable is a dream! And RE9 in 3 days! Love it 🥰

Trails Beyond The Horizon first impressions: More than just yet more Trails, but this entry seems like it's really setting up story beats that will move the series forward in an epic way. This is an Avengers level event! One critique though...Those cosmetic DLC prices are BULLSHIT! £81?! Erm no!

So I just finished Metroid Prime 4. I simply don't understand the criticism. This is the very best native Switch 2 game and up there with Dread and Prime 1 for best Metroid entry. The comradeship between Samus and the Galactic Federation troops you meet was brilliantly done. We NEED a MP5!!

Ghost Of Yotei first impressions: This is, I think, what would happen if Quentin Tarantino made a Kill Bill inspired Samurai video game. Much more stylish and bombastic than Tsushima was, with a much more likeable protagonist and more visceral combat. I absolutely LOVE this game. Essential.

Persona 3 Reload new update for Switch 2 now means the game can run at 60fps and the frame pacing issue is gone. This is awesome news and now means there's no reason why Persona 5 Royal or Metaphor Re Fantazio can't run at 60 on Switch 2 also! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Metroid Prime 4 is Possibly GOTY material. There is not one single thing I dislike about it. The world is gorgeous. The music is SO special. The gameplay is tried and true Metroid Prime, but with a modern fluidity to everything. The animation, Voice acting, story, it's all so special to me.

Can Team Asano do ANY wrong? Octopath Traveller 0 would suggest they absolutely can't. The game is phenomenal. Best 2D-HD graphics yet. A faster battle system. Music that is INCREDIBLE. Seriously the music is a year's highlight. An instant classic JRPG.

My mini review for S2 version: SUCH a weird port here. No PS4 hair, but much sharper res. Old Lara face model, but now with pretty good lip syncing (Even PS4 DE had bad lip sync). No gyro aiming, but gyro used for item viewing?! Overall happy with this, and it's cheap (£14), but should be better.

A good selection from a huge pool of worthy GOTY contenders this year. Whilst I do think E33 may take the award, and absolutely deserves it too, I think Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 may be a surprise win. KCD2 is absolutely incredible and a generation highlight.

Some recommendations: Olli Olli World Rogue Legacy 2 Nobody Saves The World Cave Story Goodnight Universe Chained Echoes The Artful Escape And I know this is a huge one, but Vampire Survivors is genuinely one of the best games of the gen.

So Tetris Effect Connected and Lumens Arise truly are two of the best games ever made. They are timeless, endlessly addictive, and I can't see myself NOT playing them in 20 years time. Just brilliant game design.

Trails In The Sky 1st Chapter...*Loving sigh* 😍 One of the best remakes of one of the best JRPG's of all time. What more can be said? In many ways I feel 1st Chapter is a better remake than FFVII Remake, because of how faithful it is to the source. Nothing added, just modernised. It's peak 😭♥️

Kind of stating the obvious at this point but I've been saying it for years: Gaming should not be this expensive. There is zero valid reason why a game should cost £70+, why a system should cost £700-£1000. Prices like that alienates customers rather than drawing them in, hence less money is made.

Hot take, but I think Assassin's Creed Shadows is the best samurai/feudal Japanese game of it's ilk, beating Ghost Of Tsushima by quite a margin in my opinion. Don't misunderstand though, I really enjoyed GoT, the story was excellent but the gameplay felt formulaic. So...Would I like Yotei??

Here's an opinion I'm 99% sure will come true. Game prices will rise even more in the coming years. I can totally see games being $100/£100+ within the next 5 years. Subscription models will rise in price also and will implode within the next few years. Game crash 2.0 incoming guys...
