This was one of the most special retreats that we have ever hosted and that I have ever facilitated. 13 survivors and murder victim family members came together for 4 days and three nights of exploring our griefs, our wounds, and also our wisdom and growth. #healingjusticeproject

My answer for the day is I will put myself in the way of abundant gratitude

On my morning walk in a red state in a red county of North Carolina reminding people that the dude they are praying to this morning in a building that is tax exempt was radically inclusive as well.

Finally slept through the night for 8 hours, woke up with beautiful skies, no humidity and a breeze. Breeze. So this is my current internal compass speaking to me and now I'm ready to take on the patriarchy, fascism, xenophobics, transphobics and racist again. Here I come.

I find it shocking that we are shocked by what is happening in this country right now, but I am bearing witness to the truth of who we are and who we have always been. Except for a few years, America has been a country for rich, conservative, Christian, heterosexual, white men. It's a return.

I am facilitating a healing retreat this weekend for 13 survivors of violent crime. Sexual assault survivors and the families of murdered loved ones. The hard work is learning not to run from our pain, grief and wounds, and also find room for those moments of inexplicable joy and delight.

Healing Justice recently joined Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office for a training on centering victims and survivors in post-conviction work. 📣 We shared trauma-informed practices and heard powerful firsthand experiences. Thank you to Lake County for having us!

@healingjustice.bsky.social continues to be the only organization in the country that addresses harm calls to everyone in wrongful conviction cases. By using restorative justice principles and guidelines, we help individuals begin their healing journey.

At @healingjustice.bsky.social we know that the harm caused by a wrongful conviction does not impact one person, it impacts dozens. Entire communities are led to believe that the guilty person has been apprehended when in fact, they are still out creating additional harms. Follow us to stay involved

This is 100% me. And it goes for family too. You voted with your feet in 2016, you showed me again who you were in 2020 and in 2024. That was the end of the line for me. You can call it boundaries but I for damn sure need you to stay way away from me.

Friends, I want to say something loud and clear.... YOU CAN'T HAVE SEX WITH A CHILD!!! IT IS RAPE, NOT SEX. Call it what it is and let's stop protecting these rapists. By not using the proper term, you are somehow shifting the responsibility of consent. You cannot give consent when you are a child.

A reminder that trying to appeal to the Republican party is not going to work. This requires breaking free and resisting the oppressor
