Just finished some meetings here in the Capitol tonight. Where do things stand? Republicans are still pushing a shutdown, all because they think working together to keep your premiums from doubling is unreasonable. Republicans do not care if you can afford health care.

I just voted against a GOP bill that gives up Congress's power over spending. Instead of working with Democrats to stop premiums from DOUBLING next year, Republicans are sending us straight into a shutdown—and pushing bills to give up their own power and hand it over to Trump.

These GOP politicians have to stop describing largely peaceful urban centers like Portland and Chicago as war zones. The unpeaceful parts are where the Feds have shown up to spread fear and abuse.
