It's been 3 weeks since the upload and my video about Art and Ico did perform OK compared to my others. I can't say I'm happy with the view numbers, less than 1k feels like a loss. However, there were nice discussions in the comments. Nonomori to all who watched it! The next one is coming soon.

This is one of these gaming moments that pops into my mind once or twice a month. Ico should be part of your general gaming education.

One aspect that didn't make it into the final script of my last video: Ico was released in 2001 but the body language of its characters feels so realistic. It puts even some modern games to shame. Just look at this scene:

Playing as Zero in Mega Man X4 is pretty fun! The game was obviously not designed around a melee character, but once you adopt an aggressive play style, it flows well.

And with that, Katakura Kita fulfilled Nobunaga's ambition. All hail the great Katakura Clan!

At the end of my alternate Sengoku timeline, a great decisive battle took place between the mighty Katakura clan and the vile Miyoshi clan. The victor would gain control over the Kinki region. This was the biggest battle I fought this far and it was really exciting. However ...

I somehow caused an upset of historical proportions. When my current Daimyo, Shiba Tsuneaki, died I chose his wife Katakura Kita as his successor. This led to the only female Daimyo in all of Japan, but also changed the name of the clan from Shiba to Katakura. So, uhm... Glory to the Katakura Clan!

The Authority-mechanic is a highlight of Nobunaga's Ambition: Awakening. It can really turn the tide of war, especially when fighting a huge enemy like the Hojo Clan. Provoking a huge battle and triggering Authority is a blast and a key strategy on my conquest for the great Shiba Clan.

I never thought I would say something like this, but: My next video is delayed due to a war. More precisely: Because I was stuck in another country due to war. Now I am back home and everyday life can begin again. I hope that those who are still out there searching for a way back make it home safely

I know it's called Nobunaga's Ambition, but look at Shiba Akitaka, Daimyo of the Shiba Clan, declaring he wants to rule over all of Japan at age 71! While Nobunaga is all about "A man's 50 years pass by like a dream...", this man gets started with 71. The truest ambition!

I have chosen my allegiance. From this day onward, I shall serve the Shiba clan!

Cadence of Hyrule is lots of fun. But its appeal is hard to explain since it offers a unique gameplay mix. I guess that's a story for another day...

I played Crypt of the NecroDancer in 2024 and enjoyed it a lot (I even made a video about it: youtu.be/0vx0bz3_kNY). So it was only a matter of time until I would play Cadence of Hyrule. This year I felt the urge to finally try it out and I was not disappointed. This game is pretty good!

Today my latest video (www.youtube.com/watch?v=74K9...) cracked 1.000 views. This is only the second one that reached a 4-digit number, so I'm really stoked. The three videos before didn't even reach 1k views combined, so this feels like a huge success. Thanks to all who saw it!

The greatest game I played in 2025, and yet I struggle to put into words what makes it so great. Outer Wilds is a unique experience, an adventure where the only guiding-line is your own curiosity. If "exploring the unknown" sounds fun to you, then this is an absolute must-play.

In 2024, three friends and I started a playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 and completed it in summer of 2025. This was one of the best multiplayer experiences I have ever had. BG3 is rightfully celebrated as one of the best AAA games of the decade and is a huge victory for RPG players.

The only game from 2025 on my list. I guess not many had "Touhou 20: Fossilized Wonders" on their radar, but if we're just talking about pure gameplay, this is the best I played last year. And if I were compare it to earlier entries in the series... well that would be a story for another day.

Yes, I played FF IV for the first time in 2025. I don't know why I waited this long, but it was worth it. While many later JRPGs improved many aspects FF IV established, it is still a fun and worthwhile playthrough. It takes you on an adventure with lots of memorable characters and twists.

The Messenger is simply a solid action-platformer with tight controls and great levels. And some cool movement options like the signature 'cloudstep'. It's also packed with loads of genre-defying ideas and twists, and most of them work quite well. All of this made it my number 5 in 2025.

I just saw the new Inbox-video from @superbunnyhop.bsky.social ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=0it7...) and as soon as it was over I went to my gaming cupboard, fetched this and took a picture of it. My parents bought this back then and we played it together a couple of times.

Ah, the Game Awards... Since I usually don't play games in the year they come out, I don't really have an incentive to engage with this show. Still, I appreciate how this event celebrates the year in gaming. My friends and I do the same: in December, we always discuss our personal games of the year.

If you like Action-Platformers then you should check out The Messenger! It even has a unique gameplay-bending twist. I won't spoil it here, but it really surprised me.

The movement in "The Messenger" is just *chef's kiss*. Getting from A to B in a stylish way is so much fun!

One of the strengths of Final Fantasy IV is its colorful cast of characters. Even bosses you only fight once often leave a lasting impression, like these three ladies. They are called the 'Magus Sisters,' and if they seem familiar, then you've probably played Final Fantasy X.

I recently played Final Fantasy IV for the first time and had a great time. It doesn't offer much in terms of gameplay mechanics, but I really enjoyed exploring the world as the story unfolds. It has a couple of surprises in store for you.

My favourite boss in Touhou 20: Fossilized Wonders is easily Nareko. The interaction with her is brilliant and her Spell Cards have a riddle- and labyrinth-theme which is right up my alley.

Yesterday I successfully completed my first 1CC in Touhou 20, so today I’m starting with Bluesky. Fossilized Wonders is surprisingly tough and it took quite a while to clear it in one continue. As usual it was rewarding to figure out how to survive these bosses... but that’s a story for another day.
