Interested in almost everything. Comics, cinema and Old Time Radio are current obsessions.
Tonight's movie is a 1947 noir directed by Elia Kazan. He might have been a rat, but he knew how to make a movie and get the best out of his cast.

Tonight's movie is a Terry Gilliam film made before he became a total putz. I'm hoping it will be st least visually interesting.

Tonight's Season One episode of THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY, "A Partridge Up a Pear Tree", featured a very young Annette O'Toole (19 years old). And MCHALE'S NAVY Carl Ballantine in a small role.

Just popped open this can of Chili and Lime Pringles to give them a try while watching Olympic hockey. I finished them. Which is not how I eat chips at all. Highly recommended.

Tonight's movie is a musical from the Arthur Freed unit at MGM. It lost money at the box office, but it was directed by Vincente Minnelli, so I'm sure it's going to be visually spectacular. Plus, Cyd Charisse. Love that lady.

Tonight's movie is another of this week's purchases that has jumped to the front of the line. I saw it 33 years ago at a Buñel retrospective at Cinematheque Ontario when it was not supposed to be shown in NA because of rights issues. It was advertised as a SPECIAL SURPRISE. Bells are ringing...

Tonight's movie is the probably the last great classic from Shaw Brothers. I've heard it said that this is Lau Kar-leung's best film, which is high praise considering his THE 36TH CHAMBER OF SHAOLIN is such a cultural touchstone. One of yesterday's pickups that has jumped to the head of the queue.

Just watched a great Season 4 episode of MAVERICK called "The Maverick Line" with James Garner. Which left me a little puzzled since he quit at the end if Season 3. Turns out it was filmed fit that season and was held over till S4. Anyway, it guest stars Buddy Basin and is well worth seeing.

Tonight's movie is the second in the GILDERSLEEVE series. There were four made in the 40s, reflecting the popularity of the radio show, a spin-off from FIBBER MCGEE AND MOLLY. I think my first memory of Harold Pearl would be the series if commercials he made for Faygo in the 1970s.

Tonight's movie stars one of my favourite French actors. My brain is still a little fuzzy from yesterday fever, so I'm just going to kick back with a frothy action comedy. (That's what it's advertised as being, so fingers crossed.)

In this BTAS episode, Bruce escapes the dream trap because he cannot read anything because the right hemisphere if the brain controls reading and dreams come from the left. My problem with this episode is: I can read in my dreams and I have awoken being able to quote what I read. Anyone else?

Tonight's movie is a remake of the 1931 classic of lesbian cinema. Made in 1958, this movie is rather conservative and really soft pedals the Sapphic aspect of the original. But, it has Romy Schneider which is always a good thing.

This morning's comic has the great Frank Godwin filling in on art for H. G. Peter. A fantastic artist, Godwin is little known today, but he is on the level of Foster and Raymond. Check this out for more information.

Tonight's movie is in the category of sequels that are equal to, if not better than, their predecessors. Ostensibly a sequel to CAT PEOPLE, it eschews the former's horror elements in favour of fantasy and child psychology. And it marks the beginning of Robert Wise's directorial career.

Tonight's movie is one I have been looking forward to seeing for a long time. It is not in our library system, so I was happy to find a used copy today. Directed by Mario Monicello, better known for his comedies (BIG DEAL ON MADONNA STREET) and starring the peerless Marcello Mastroianni.

To battle the January cold, share a summer movie!🌞 During a free weekend, our movie channel played this and BLADE RUNNER incessantly. John Water lived it because it was "about being young, rich, stupid and nude."

Tonight's movie introduced the world to "White Christmas", the perfect holiday song for a world at war. You're not going to go wrong with a movie scored by Irving Berlin and starring Der Bingle and Fred Astaire.
