Tonight's movie is from 1966 and was apparently originally pitched as a sequel to the first DJANGO movie. Franco Nero and some of the same team worked on it, but DJANGO's director, Sergio Corbucci, turned it down. It is said that the film hews closer to a classic American Western than Italian.

Tonight's movie from 1967 finds Vittorio di Sica in the comedic phase of his career. Shirley MacLaine plays seven different roles in this anthology picture about adultery in Rome. A financial flop, di Sica would follow it up with a similar anthology film with Silvana Mangano called THE WITCHES.

Tonight's movie is the first in the THREE COLOURS trilogy, and my favourite of the three. I'm not sure that Juliette Binoche has ever equalled this performance, and she has turned in some excellent ones subsequently. I probably hold it in such esteem because Kieslowski left us far too early.

Tonight's movie stars the incomparable Pam Grier in an adaptation of the Jim Lawrence/Jorge Langarón comic strip that ran from 1970-74. I picked this up 30 minutes ago along with BLACK CAESAR and SLAUGHTER, and it immediately jumped to the front of the queue. Outtasight!

Finally finished this book. Well written, but what is it with British historians and the German army? They really admire their leadership (Hitler excepted), training and combat performance.

Tonight's movie is Michelangelo Antonioni's penultimate film. It will be interesting to see Tomas Milian in the lead role. I only know him from his roles in Italian genre pictures like Western and Euro crime movies where he has a tendency to chew up the scenery.
