i finally made such a huge, huge realization today when it comes to drawing... i can't believe it. only now, only NOW, do i fully comprehend how tall 187cm actually is in real life. now i understand. i understand...

i can't train my little brother in the gym but at least i can train him to stop drinking sweet coffee, wake up at the sunrise, and read a book 2 hours before bed 😭

on a whim... i'm gonna bring my brother to a live figure drawing session in the city next week, this is different from the classes- it's like an open session for artists that i'm excited to try

i still remember how i felt when i first had this kind of artist's thought: "this drawing isn't something i spent hours on or thought hard about, but it's something i think turned out cool enough to feel like i can show it to someone..." i used to not feel that way myself- not just everyone can... 🥹

it's perhaps over a year now and i still can't help but repost these photos because i like them and i know they're practice drawings but there's just a lot of beauty in the lines, it's honestly mesmerizing to look at and it's not really something i see every day?! makes me so glad bluesky exists 🥰

i got a new monitor stand for my drawing tablet and it's... revolutionary... tbh, i have these lights and a lamp that were blocked by the tablet, but now that i've lifted it up, suddenly i'm blinded now- i have so much light that i needed to dim them down (never thought i'd have that problem 😭)

i feel like giving my gesture drawing reference photos funny and somewhat memorable names describing the pose before i start to actually draw the model makes me draw better, makes me focus on it harder, and it's highly entertaining!

can i talk about nursing things? ugh, i was absolutely brain fried today because my patient's hemoglobin dropped an obscenely large amount, but i spent HOURS in that room messing with the patient redrawing and troubleshooting it, but that drop was no joke 😑 this is why the ICU gets only 2 patients 🫠

i'm so excited for the figure drawing sessions that i can't stop thinking about it, already knowing what to expect makes it even more relaxing. i'm even excited for the self-introdctions yo 😭✌️two more nights two more nightsss

one thing i always wanted to try practicing was studying various human expressions and drawing those as characters? i always think i should do it, but i guess never did because it's difficult? i started trying it today but, gee it takes a lot of experimenting 😭

i'm ashamed to talk about it, but my drawing sessions can be up to 16 hours long and i feel like i never have anything worthy to show for it, i have a lot of stamina and i'm good at focusing, but i'm inefficient, trial and error, it honestly tears me up inside like a ghost that haunts me somehow 🥲

i just woke up and drew for 1.5 hours, but i didn't even realize i wasn't listening to music? i can't believe my thoughts were THAT empty holy cow, that was awesome. did i draw better tho? i have no idea...

this book i'm reading is telling me to practice and train myself to focus on gesture by using the live model in a session to capture the gesture ONLY, while drawing the character (outfit/defining props/hair) instead of the live model? should i practice that?? with loid and yor?? erhehm?!??

waaaa what i just read here (yes this is still the disney animation book) is really cool... confirms my suspicions indeed...

there is one thing i know though- and that's the 'idea' or the 'message' of the art, but i'm the only one who can take care of that aspect 😅😭

i actually really want someone to judge my drawings and my drawing skills with the coldest and most factual, professional eyes- like PLEASE tell me what i'm doing wrong, where am i messing up, "what can i do to draw this better and how can i avoid this mistake in the future??" 🫪😭
