WOW…MASSIVE GROWTH Tuesday & overnight on the #BearGulchFire. Heat signatures show a HUGE area that burned northward as the pyrocumulus cloud blew up yesterday. Waiting for any new acreage estimates, but the new area burned is almost 2x the fire’s size. Just incredible. #wawx

Tuesday’s hot temps were influenced by offshore flow, which resulted in strong gap winds near the most vulnerable gaps (near Enumclaw, along I-90, and the western Columbia River Gorge). In these areas, winds gusted 30-45 mph, with exposed ridges gusting up to 55+ mph! #wawx #orwx

Incredible temperatures on Tuesday, with many records set! Highs reached the mid 80s to mid 90s across the metro area, with the coast & Whidbey Island also reaching the mid 80s to low 90s. Amazing what offshore flow can do! #wawx
