"You people did this to me. I need it fixed now." No, we told you the paperwork needed to be submitted by June 12th, and we did not receive it until this Monday. That's not our fault. You could have sent it earlier or followed up on it sooner.

Are we now in the era of law enforcement where the claim has switched from "they were reaching into their pocket" to "they were weaponizing their vehicle"? It seems like it. They want to justify shooting into a moving vehicle instead of getting out of the way and catching up to them later.

Sometimes I wonder if callers aren't emotionally manipulating some of our female callcenter agents because they seem to get women crying on the phone on a daily basis. As an agent, I only got maybe 1 crying person per month, if that many.

Suddenly, my employer is allowing the use of preferred names, after years of opposing it quite vehemently. We got a new CEO a few months ago, so I'm assuming it's his doing. I've noticed that (so far) it's only been women choosing to go by a preferred name.

I feel that if you switch parties after being elected, there should be a mandatory special election within 6 weeks to see whether the electorate still wants you in office. No one should be able to switch parties and serve out the rest of their term without the people having a say in the matter.

It has been pointed out that the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was not designed to support the weight of vehicles driving across it, certainly not the (estimated) 7.5-ton presidential limo. The "vandals" were likely POTUS and his entourage staging their stunt ride.

We went to war and ended up with a worse deal than the Obama deal that he rescinded. We also killed a more moderate Supreme Leader and handed that title to his son, certainly more motivated to pursue certain goals that his father did not. This doesn't seem like winning, but whatever.

If you're banning curriculum materials that might cause feelings of guilt, anguish, or psychological distress, exactly what are you saying should be taught? Do you only want concepts that make you feel good, even if they're not a true reflection of events?

It's going to be interesting to see how many people post that they're upset about having July 3rd off, which is a Friday, since they were so upset about Juneteenth's Friday closures. We all know what they were really upset about, right?

Nobody is vandalizing the Reflecting Pool, and Trump knows it. This is a visible example of his corruption--a no-bid contract to some crony followed by sky-high cost overruns, and shoddy construction to boot. Classic Trump: I didn't fuck up, it was my enemies.

A former boss told me that there are enough policies in the employee handbook that no one can be 100% compliant 100% of the time. If they want to get rid of you, they can find a policy you have violated. Even the most scrupulous employee has done something they shouldn't have done at some point.

There are some euphemisms I find hard to use, and saying someone "passed" when they died is one of them. I prefer to say they made a major real estate transaction. They bought the farm.

My company has a strict policy against verifying employment by phone unless the employee or former employee is also on the call. Unfortunately, scammers will verify current or previous employment to impersonate folks. We live in a world where callers can't be trusted.

Some people scrutinize mainstream movie scenes to figure out if the actors engaged in real sexual activities, if it was simulated, if they used body doubles, or if they used CGI. I've never understood why trying to figure that out is important. Did the scene look believable? That's important.
