Just barely got the 5h speedrun achievement on my first try. Gosh this game's fun.

-Aeri's was some rando in mid school. -Gabby's was with Thorne in upper school at a skate park. -Taylor's was with Hayes in upper school. -Madi lies and says it was with Taylor but it was actually with someone she doesn't wanna talk about from upper school. -Ghost's and Ultra-Dude's were each other.

Watched a couple speedruns, got a map from the speedrun discord, took my own notes, routed in an extra mask, (downloaded an enemy health bar mod). Tomorrow I'm going for the Silksong 5hr any% steam achievement. Should be doable but the game is hard so who knows.

Finally finished getting the last two mementos. The one for completing the Hunter's Journal took a while but showed me two optional bosses I skipped. And the Guardian's Memento had some really fun minigames with insane skill checks. But that's this file actually really finally completed. :D

Okay my Silksong break is over, back to working on my comic so I don't feel like a liar when I call myself a comic artist. Just decided to give Gabby/Spectre a Boston accent to make the text of my comic a bit more fun to write and read.

The majority of the game was very extremely incredibly good but it sucks that the worst parts were the very beginning and the very end. It just takes you back to before you won. There's not a Godhome equivalent or any way to explore a pre-Act 3 world with your Act 3 gear.

Dude this final boss is so lame. First two phases take like 5 minutes cuz I'm able to no hit them by just slowly walking away in the giant arena then the 3rd phase they're throwing like ten attacks at once and I just slowly die. Like how is the least fun boss the last one.

Got some help from a moot and found Act 3 of Silksong. I won't spoil it but ooh boy it's good so far. I'm gonna try to go for 100% on this file but considering only 1.5% have the steam achievement for it (so far), it might be a tougher task than I realize.

Took a break from working on my comic for Silksong but I've still slowing adding to my wplace pixel art corner in the meantime.

My main 4 OCs all got matching tattoos of their initials late in the story. My OC Madi is a tattoo artist and has a ton of tattoos. (Here's her ref sheet that shows 'em all.)

A little rest for Shakra and Hornet the hardest part of Silksong is deciding if I draw or play

Normally when I get stuck on a boss I don't stubbornly keep trying until I get eventually get, I like to just look for upgrades and come back when I'm stronger. But I think I ran out of optional content to level up with. Cuz there's 4 bosses on my map I can't beat and basically nothing else.

There's so much game in Silksong. I'm 30 hours in and I'm not even done with Act 2 yet. I don't know if Act 3 is gonna be as long as 1 & 2 cuz I've been avoiding spoilers but it's still so amazing that this is a $20 game.

I feel justified now, the one early game boss I couldn't beat in Silksong is get a slight nerf in the upcoming first patch. I did eventually beat Moorwing but it's nice to know it actually was unfair. (Plus I did eventually beat it after returning much later.)

You know I saw the "Act 1" title card at the beginning of Silksong yet I was still somehow surprised when I thought I was nearing the end and it just hits me with "Act 2". So I'm not even halfway done then. Nice.

I'm already so excited to watch Silksong speedruns once they get optimized. I actually want to try a casual speedrun attempt once I finish my regular playthrough which I never did for Hollow Knight. This game (apart from the early-game) is just so freaking fun to move around in.

I can't believe Hornet just did that to that bug. Apparently we'd been fighting honorably until now, cuz wow.

Silk Song feels like a game where people had time to do their jobs

Okay it took a bit to get there, but now that I've got some decent movement I'll admit it: Silksong is fun as hell! (I guess having a hard af early game might keep new runs interesting once you've gotten used to it, but it really isn't newb friendly at all at the start.)

When I think of my favorite platformers Celeste and Neon White, those games feel like they want you to win. Silksong wants you to lose. My least favorite part of Hollow Knight was how hard it was and they made it harder. I shouldn't be enjoying this game but it's crafted well enough that I still am.

First day of Silksong. I had one crazy moment but I'm not gonna spoil it. So far it's pretty fun despite being incredibly difficult. The movement is fine, I wish you had more options at the start but metroidvanias gonna metroidvania. And you can't pet the Bell Beast or the lil flea dogs either. :(

Going for a simple Front Cover for the series restart. I think "Spectre's Origins" is an intentionally on-the-nose of a title, cuz the early bit of the Blanksford Project is supposed to start classic superhero-y and deviate later on. But yeah new #BlanksfordComic coming sometime later this year.

Gabby gets called Gabz by Aeri. Thorne calls them Zeebs base on their middle name Elizabeth. Aeri is actually a nickname Madi gave her when they were children. Her actual name is Arrietty but only her parents call her that. Taylor calls his future self Chronus cuz time travel gets confusing.

I've been playing some N++ and I guess I forgot how great of a lil retro precision platformer it is. Like it doesn't break any new ground or really feel innovative at all, but it's just perfect at being what it is and I love a game that can do that. (It's moved up a bunch on my fav games list.)

Why must the art style I'm capable of drawing ≠ the art I have time to put consistently into my comics?

Excited for Silksong. ($20 is gracious AF) I doubt I'll try to 100% it or anything super crazy. Hollow Knight was good and I expect Silksong to be too, but I'm not into the Souls-like aspect of most metroidvanias. I'm in it for the cool movement / platforming more than anything.
