ok i will say one more thing on the subject. while i support the ethical use of tracing and resources i do implore people to practice without direct tracing. u can build up your internal visual library that way to the point where you’ll be comfy not using refs so often.

tracing and referencing is good, actually. You grow exponentially as an artist if you trace and reference. What people are confusing tracing/referencing with is tracing existing artwork and redistributing it, which /is/ bad. but references are a tool and we should be at leisure to use them.
