πHome stretch for the quilted heart. Take the 2.5" squares from Fabric 3. And place them right sides together on the Rectangle components we made earlier. Draw the diagonal lines as shown and sew on the lines!

Once you sew on the line, cut 1/4 inch from that line. Repeat the steps for the adjacent corner. Fabrics right sides together, draw a diagonal line, sew on line, and then cut!

Lost track of time! But I am here to help guide. Let's start simple with the center heart. Take one of the rectangles from Fabric 1, and (1) 1.25 square from Fabric 3 and align them as such. Right sides together. Mark line as indicated and sew along the line.

Block #1 of 4. The finished size of each quilt block should be 12.5"x 12.5" This mini quilt-a-long is Valentine's Themed, but feel free to make it scrappy! For the best results, pick two lighter fabrics and 2 darker fabrics. Sew tomorrow β€οΈ

With Joann Fabrics in unstable waters, where is everyone buying their cotton fabrics? I'm also curious about where else to buy Flannel fabrics

Working on the first Quilt block cut list. For the whole project, it will use 4 fabrics, but feel free to make it scrappy! Although beginner-friendly, the Quilt A-long does require the base knowledge of 1/4 seam allowance. The blocks will look more complicated than they are, so have no fear β€οΈ

Uhhh guess I'll start re-drafting the design... More people are interested in the Mini Quilt A-long than anticipated. π We start Monday 1/27. 4 blocks with a lil sashing to complete a nice wall panel/ bed accent cover.

Posting to test interest. 3 weeks until Valentine's Day! I've been sitting on a mini Quilt A-long project. 4 total blocks plus a little sashing to complete it all. This will be my first time facilitating one, so it will def be a learning curve, but will be a good indicator for future ones! Ya' dig?

It's amazing to see a new social media resurgence. It felt like there was a battle between FB, Insta, and Tiktok for awhile. This app gives me Twitter circa '09 vibes and I loveee

The TikTok ban needed to happen for me bc it has finally pushed me out of my comfort zone in a different format. Embedded in my DNA is this constant need to gather information, process, and execute behind the scenes. I always wanted to share with others but the feeling of being perceived is weird.

There is such a disconnect between people who were active on TikTok to those who never downloaded the app. How do you explain something they never fully experienced?

Yes, there is more to life, as there should be, than TikTok. However, if you enjoyed something so deeply, wouldn't you want to cherish it, too? It is silly that this was a priority over all of the issues in the US though.

It is sad news that a tenured retailer will be leaving the creative space. But, with it, I'm hoping for more local fabric/creative shops to listen to their community's needs. We need more community, especially with the younger generations.

Joann's kept repeating a model that was no longer working and failed to realize how fast the creative space was evolving. Since shut down, there has been a resurgence of sewist ranging from Cosplayer & Young Quilters. Instead of locking in on fabric and specific notions, we get seasonal up the walls

Joann Fabrics missed the mark and has an inventory problem. Buying too much of what doesn't sell during the season and not listening to the buyers that support the business. Too many loss leaders.
