Year 1 have been learning about Black History in Picture News today.

Year 1 enjoyed reading aloud their poems they have written this week in English.

Year 1 donated food for the food bank.

Reception visited the prayer hub today, to celebrate the beginning of the October when we think about Mary. The children explored the rosary beads and shared a Hail Mary.

Reception learned about the Jewish festival, Yom Kippur. They discovered that it was a time when Jewish people atone for their choices and sorry for any actions that they have taken.

As part of Black History month, reception discovered that not everyone in the past was treated equally. They learned about Jesse Owens and how he was an inspiration to all over the world. The children ran races and tested how far they could jump. They cheered for ALL of their friends.
