I have MASSIVE concerns about this race next year. Because of the way the power deploy and active aero work, with the altitude the cars could well hit top speed a few hundred meters onto the straight and then just miserably cruise the rest of the way, burning off tons of ERS.

This is tied with Vegas for the highest top speed on the calendar... 350ish. It's so high a top speed the engine revs start falling out of the peak power band over 12000rpm. We're past the era of open choice of gear ratios every race, or they might be able to squeeze out a bit more.

Oh right there's F1 this weekend. The Mexico track and event are just.......... bad right now. There's no other way to put it. The way the calendar is set this year the back end averages out to miserable. What's left? 5 races and we'd only expect Brazil to entertain. Woof.

If Max wins the WDC because Mclaren just stopped working on their car halfway through the season... 1) It'll be fucking hilarious. 2) It might be by margins that Piastri was asked to swap around for. 3) Endless respect from me. He still basically has to win out.
