Wishing our students, faculty and staff a strong close to the first week of the new semester! As we wrap up these first days of classes, I’m inspired by the dedication across our college to evidence-based practice, collaboration and preparing the next generation of public health leaders.

On behalf of the Global Virus Network, I was happy to travel to China and engage our partners in Beijing and Shanghai this past October. I spoke at the Shanghai Medical Forum, a large health workforce meeting, with Fudan University and the Capital Medical University.

Honored to recognize Dr. Deanna Wathington—an advocate for equity, a national leader through APHA, and a dedicated mentor to students here at the COPH. Her work reminds us that strong leadership means creating healthier communities while supporting those who will carry the mission forward.
