When I was in grad school, someone (not in my department) told me I wasn't a mathematician because I didn't have a PhD. I think that is too exclusionary -- Richard Guy was a mathematician. But I am not sure I'm OK with it as a self-bestowed title.

My pharmacy texted me today to urge me to book a flu shot appointment. Flu is not circulating at appreciable levels anywhere in the US at the moment, per #CDC's most recent FluView report. For most people, getting a shot this far in advance of flu season is a waste of a flu shot.
