An update on the baby gherkins (Ms. Pickles’ pups) on their four-week birthday yesterday. As always, it’s a total cuteness overload. We are so grateful to the foster family for the amazing job they’re doing. These behbehs are being wonderfully socialized and receiving the very best of care.

Ms. Pickles and her six pups are doing wonderfully in their foster home. Now three weeks old, their eyes are open and they’re hitting all their milestones. Pickles remains a proud and doting mama. The puppies are still being weighed daily and everyone is growing and thriving. #animalshelter

Adopting a kitten we’ve had in one of our foster homes means s/he’s been exposed to a wide variety of life experiences. When one of those experiences is the pure awesomeness that is Wyatt, it’s even better. (Tarzan will be available in a little over a week, give or take.) #animalshelter

Aries, 18 months old, is a bit of a phantom around here. If she hears strangers (meaning anyone who might adopt her) coming, she hides in her favorite spot inside a kitty house on our catio. We’re looking for a special person to take a leap of faith and bring her home. She’s truly delightful.

Our best guess is that Rolex (male, one blue eye) and his sister Cartier are “shepskies,” or shepherd/husky mixes. They are about 12 weeks old. They are both very people-oriented. They enjoy other dogs, too — but if there’s a person present, that’s their preference. #animalshelter

Slow your roll, folks. Kitten season isn't fully here yet. Kitten season peaks in our area in summertime. You'll find any color/gender you can imagine if you can hold on till then. We'll have many kittens in the meantime, but we'll have them absolutely coming out our ears during the summer months.

One of our volunteers adopted their favorite kitten after fostering a mama and babies. (They had kept the mama cat.) “Dusty was beside herself with joy when we brought Gizmo home. She had her arms around him immediately and was grooming him. She still grooms and snuggles with him all the time.”

Darling brindle fella Scooby spent several weeks in one of our foster homes recovering from a broken right front leg. The veterinary team at the transferring shelter suspected he had been hit by a car. Scooby is now recovered and ready to find a home of his very own. #animalshelter #angelscamp

New arrival Poppy, one year old, looks a bit like a teeny Golden Retriever — but she only weighs 22 pounds. She has short legs and we truly don’t know what kind of mix she might be. Poppy is the whole package. She adores people, dogs, and even seems to be fine with cats. #animalshelter

Pollywog is long ‘n’ low, suggesting basset hound, corgi, or dachshund in his DNA. Because he’s ridiculously close to the ground, it gives the feeling that he’s a smallish dog. (You’ll only notice that he is not, in fact, truly small when you give an involuntary “Oof!” as he climbs onto your lap.)

Stunning calico Sophie is as sweet as she is lovely. She’s getting along very well with the other cats in our cage-free Cat Lounge, and she’s very friendly. At eight years old, you won’t have to worry about any kitten foolishness, and you’ll be able to see her personality right from the get-go.
