I'm hoping to write no fic next year and focus exclusively on my novel. this is for a few reasons related to self-control and my feelings about ficdom these days.

I would like to thank the commenter who said "honestly this was such a terrible ending" for boosting my comment/view stats.

writing the ship taking off in skeleton key. It felt like it took so long to get them off that planet, but really it just took me a long time to get to that point.

I stayed frustrated!! skeleton key was a mix of unfamiliar things: sci-fi, action, + almost-but-not-quite touching tropes I love dearly. I chose it to stretch myself, and it worked. too well 😭 I don't know that I ever got past it. I just decided to finish anyway + clung to encouraging comments!

I've been really enamored with Hoseok. He's such a versatile character (both in fiction and real life.)

sweet dreams (come after hours) meant the most. Irl Joon talking about his military insomnia resonated with me because I have a nightmare disorder. so it was very cool to explore that with a fictional Joon!

I (re)discovered the art of the Little Screen: writing in bed on my phone. it really does help me to see the words in a different proportion + takes away some of the seriousness of writing on a Big Screen.

probably Sinners. Its themes of diaspora and family are what I'm trying to capture in my novel. (minus the vampires lmao)

before this year I had never orphaned a fic before. this year I orphaned 5 and lost 5000+ kudos with them. it was bittersweet and freeing all at once.
