This is cool, and ALMOST really well done. I’m glad Tacoma is doing bike infrastructure, especially in under-served communities. But next time let’s beef up the diverter curbs so cars can’t just drive right through them…

I’ve seen a bunch of cargo bike people on bluesky post this setup before, and finally did it myself today. The kiddo was too tired out by some big hills (plus super hungry), so it seemed like an ideal time.

The last couple of days, I haven’t been the only bike at kid pick up! Two more parents seem to have joined the ranks, both with trailers. I absolutely love to see it.

My absolute favorite part of this map is the monorail line connecting the Key Peninsula not to populated Anderson Island, but to the all-but-shuttered correctional facility on McNeil Island.
