This is a really neat result – the #UCSD group are using PUNCH data to drive 3-D models of the entire solar wind flow. Jackson (UCSD Co-I on #PUNCH) invented this field in the early 1980s, using a spinning photometer to make "images" of CMEs. Amazing that we get to work with him today! ☀️🧪🔭🛰️

The constellations we see today are different from those our ancestors saw due to the Earth's axial precession. While the stars do move, they are so far away that the span of human life on Earth hasn't been long enough for that to make a diference.

The Big Bang wasn't an explosion in space; it was the rapid expansion of space itself. Think of it this way - every point in space was suddenly farther away from every other point in space. There was no center. It happened everywhere, all at once.

Wonderful footage. It really brings the deceleration home to watch that speed drop from 20K km/h to a few hundred in just a few seconds!
