For those in California that need to upgrade to a Real ID, submitting scans of your documents online allows you to go in the appointment line at the DMV without an appointment. I only spent 20 minutes or so at the DMV. Utterly painless.

Packing print portfolio orders today.

Many of you who ordered my 2024 print portfolio will receive shipping notifications soon. Once all of them have been mailed, I’ll begin shipping zine orders.

Anyone else have a cat that demands to be spun?

I’ve received my shipment of zines, and they turned out great. I spotted one mistake, but it’s no biggie. I used the same caption for 2 photos. But those are the sort of imperfections that make our work real, something I reference in the introduction.

For those who have ordered a zine, I will receive the shipment from the print shop on Friday and will begin shipping print portfolio orders with bundled zines first. After that, I’ll ship individual zine orders. Print portfolio only orders have already shipped.

Making good use of some nice weather before the rain arrives this weekend

Printing the vellum sheets for my 2024 print portfolios today. I love working with a wide variety of materials when producing these print portfolios.

Just a quick update to say I’ve submitted the final design of my Zine to the print shop for production, and I’m in the process of printing the final image for this year’s print portfolio. I’m over a week of last year, and hope to start shipping at the end of this month.

I used a 3 stop ND filter to lengthen my exposure to 15 seconds, and intentionally exposed this sheet of 8x10 film during a gust of wind with hopes the windblown leaves would take on a flame-like appearance.
