The Board of Supervisors today unanimously passed our expansion of the Fair Chance Ordinance! Across the country, reproductive rights are under threat. LGBTQIA+ rights are increasingly being banned. Even abortion is now illegal in 13 states. The passage of this legislation will help fight back.

Yesterday we celebrated Dustin Winn as he was promoted to be the first Muslim appointed to Assistant Deputy Chief of the Fire Department. Families, community, and youth from across the Tenderloin joined us to celebrate Dustin, who has lead with heart and integrity for decades in the city's service.

Today we officially reopened Club Deluxe - a beloved jazz venue in the Haight Ashbury. The club was restored by owners Christian and Jay. Fun fact: Christian was a former bartender and musician at Club Deluxe before it closed, and he returned to revitalize the establishment as its new owner.

Reproductive rights are being criminalized across the country. Today, I joined Planned Parenthood Northern California CEO Dr Barnett as we voted on legislation to protect those rights here in San Francisco.

This morning I joined our State Controller Malia Cohen as we rallied for the passage for the expansion of reproductive and gender based expression rights in San Francisco. We gathered in support of legislation I introduced to expand the Fair Chance Ordinance.

I spent this morning meeting 200 kids, and this afternoon meeting 200 seniors across San Francisco! Today was the kickoff of summer programming for youth across the city with the MoMagic program which serves kids from the TL to Fillmore in District 5, and the joy in the kids eyes was so rewarding.

A small business owner reached out about ongoing graffiti, trespassing, and damaged property at his business, Warm Planet Bikes, on the McAllister and Market Street corner. Our office took action, and worked with SFPD and other City Departments to support in addressing the problem.
