The *Irish Biblical Association’s* Belfast Meeting hosted by Union Theological College featured stimulating papers from PhDs: Helena Connolly, Ivan Petrovski, Maicol Cortés. Dr Andrew Doole (Innsbruck) & Dr Claire Carroll (TCD) enlightened us with their latest research! A treat for all!

🧵(1) The manuscripts housed at the Sheptytsky National Museum in L’viv primarily originate from Western Ukraine—a historical crossroads where Slavic cultures (Ukrainian, Polish, and Ruthenian) intersected with diverse religious traditions, including Orthodoxy, Catholicism, and Greek Catholicism.

It was a joy to connect with Prof. Núria Calduch Benages, Secretary of the Pontifical Biblical Commission and great scholar of the OT, in Ireland this w/end. She shared with us a wonderful overview of the work of the PBC & PBI.📖#Bible

With the closure of churches in some areas, I have often wondered about this, that they were payed for by the local people and the local faith community has some entitlement to ownership of these spaces - beyond the spiritual- as they helped fund the building in the first place.
