The NY Congressional delegation has urged Trump and USDA to ensure SNAP benefits will be received by New Yorkers without delay. USDA has contingency funds for this exact scenario and has a clear legal obligation do disburse them. The President is making a choice to take food assistance away.

According to KFF, healthcare premiums in our district will increase on average by 230% if we don’t take action to extend the ACA tax credits. Families and small business owners are getting squeezed by rising costs. We must address these premiums before it’s too late.

Today I joined hundreds of neighbors at No Kings rallies in New Rochelle and Larchmont. The message was clear: Americans do not want a despot. We believe our leaders should abide by the Constitution and uphold the rule of law.

Donald Trump’s decision to cancel the Gateway Project - already under construction - is all about political spite and revenge. Vengeance on Chuck Schumer means more to him than the millions of commuters who travel between states in the economic capital of this country.

I was honored to recognize the life of Lynne T. Wagstaff on the House floor this week. She spent her entire career in public education and felt it was her responsibility not only to educate but to provide care and safety for children who were often underserved and overlooked. She will be missed.

In August I had the opportunity to tour Education First's International Language Campus and speak with young people from over 60 countries who are in Tarrytown to learn English. I applaud the courage and openness of these students in coming to the U.S. and meeting students from different cultures.

This week the Foreign Affairs Committee worked on the bill that provides funding and structure to the State Department. There have been a mixed bag of proposed policies. But overall, I couldn’t support a bill that undermines the good work of the State Dept and our standing in the world.
