It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Malaysia’s AI ethics guidelines (AIGE) are voluntary right now. Its set of data laws (PDPA) hasn’t caught up with AI yet, meaning a ton of personal financial info will be collected, processed, and utilized without much codified oversight.

It's easy to dismiss this as garbage in/garbage out. It's also easy to say, "Yes, but people also misuse hammers, icepicks, and other tools." But a hammer can only hammer one nail at a time. With bad data hygiene, harm can happen *at scale*.

A fun thought exercise: I've seen some folks discussing Dennett's Multiple Draft Model of consciousness and how it compares to LLMs. Both utilize iterative revisions and lack a 'central controller' deciding what the person/model 'believes'. (It's not grounds for claims of consciousness, though.)
