JACKPOT! Local thrift had some excellent choices. Plenty of double features, Planet of the Apes collection, and a grip of Kiss, Crüe, and Leppard tapes... also Naked Lunch. $1.50 each was impossible to resist.

Started collecting CDs again. Haven't bought one since 2004 (my Chemical Romance, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge) As if I didn't already have enough trouble finding places to store physical media 🙃

Currently window shopping for a copy of Cannibal Holocaust on lasersisc. Not the most I've ever spent, but it's certainly not cheap.

Organized the Laserdisc collection. I will never have any business making fun of people who collect vinyl.

While searching for my childhood sick day TV, I found another CRT to add near the top of my wishlist. The Panasonic CT-101 1.5" portable color television.

Homegirl at the local thrift knows what I'm into and saves tapes and Laserdiscs for me.

LOGGING ON

On the drive home from feeding my sister's chickens, I happened upon this forlorn Magnavox RS1960, abandoned in a gravel turnout. I couldn't leave it there.

Found at the local thrift store for $1.50 As crazy as it sounds, I've never actually seen this movie with the English dub... and it's honestly not bad.

I was shopping for tapes at the Goodwill, and this super nice lady asked me if I actually watched movies on tape. I told her that I do, and she's giving me her whole collection. This is the first batch. She's just happy that they're going to someone who actually enjoys them.

I'm watching Spy Hard, and just noticed that Pat Morita plays a gay waiter in one of the scenes.

I happened upon this laserdisc copy of Cyclone Z (Dragons Forever) at Game Shop Downstairs in San Jose, CA. It's gonna be fun to watch a movie in Chinese with Japanese subtitles.

I have found one of my Holy Grails! This laserdisc has eluded me for almost a year, and I got it shockingly cheap. I absolutely love Strange Brew, and I now own this movie in every available format.

Found another Laserdisc player! $40 at the local thrift. No remote, and the display doesn't light up, but it plays great, and the auto-reverse works flawlessly. Gotta open it up and clean/grease the rails and repair/replace the bad display.

I absconded with my father's disused and long-broken Pioneer LD-S1 and fixed it. Works WAY better than my shitty Sony MDP-333 and has a warm nostalgia because it's the machine I watched movies on as a kid (also, my dad got it as a present from Steve Wosniak)

Now I DEFINITELY need a Betamax player.

GRAIL TIME!!! I've been trying to find this disc for AGES! Radioactive Dreams is one of the movies that inspired the Fallout universe (the other being A Boy and His Dog). Now I gotta find the Japanese version. It's got extra footage and is edited to have a different plot.
