Day 96 of going to the gym I almost didn’t go. My knees hurt, my pecs still sting a bit. It’s almost Christmas! I have eaten way too many cookies. I went, I treadmilled and sauna-ed. I wish I could quote from Ghostbusters, we came we saw we kicked its ass! Alas, today was I got there, I left.

Day 95 of going to the gym Things felt great today! Still only did cardio/lower/sauna, but I feel accomplished. I don’t know I’m ready to say I’ve “conquered” the gym, but we have definitely come to an understanding. Friendship is a ways off, don’t suffocate me!

Day 94 of going to the gym I don’t even know who I am anymore. Worked out with trainer but was bummed we couldn’t do more. She says I have made the crossover into that person that comes to the gym. I assure you, I hate the gym and I hate working out! But at least it’s a hate I’m in control of now.

Day 93 of going to the gym Didn’t want to go. It felt like day 4 when I was still whining about doing it. Now I’m whining that I’m restricted on my what I can do because I’m injured. I went. I walked on treadmill and did the sauna. Trainer tomorrow so didn’t want to kill myself. Glad I went!

Day 92 of going to the gym Took it easy by doing treadmill and a few bicep things. I tried something new though, the sauna!! Why am I just finding out about this now??! Who knew that sitting and sweating my face off would feel so great! It’s gonna be a regular thing for me now.

Day 91 of going to the gym I had the personal trainer today and we rescheduled my session until after I see the doc. I was actually disappointed! I went walked treadmill for 45 minutes!! This a mental change for me for sure. A breakthrough? Hoping I don’t have to chill for too long. Recovery sucks!

Day 90 of going to the gym I made an appointment for the doc on Wednesday. I’m hearing pulling or clicking under right by the top of the rib cage. A cartilage tear maybe? Nonetheless, I persisted today by just walking on the treadmill. Ice and ibuprofen prove to still be my pal! I will not quit!

Day 89 of going to the gym Lots of pain the last couple of days. I’m pretty sure it’s a pec strain and not a lat strain as it’s in the chest and not in the back. I went and worked my biceps and triceps, some leg curls and also biked for a bit. I also made sure I stretched after! No pecs, no problem!

Day 88 of going to the gym Trainer says I’ve gained so much strength! She even remarked how many more exercises we are getting through with less time between sets. I feel it, I know it, but when will I look it!!

Day 87 of going to the gym The old me would have said, “I have pain so I can’t go to the gym.” Apparently the new me works no matter what! I went and walked on treadmill for 41 minutes and felt great so worked the upper body without any strain on my lats. Wow! Who knew I was this person?

After much pain, I relented and went to Urgent Care and yesterday I had an X-Ray. Still waiting to hear the results. I want to get to the gym today, but I may just need another day off with just my ice pack.

Day 86 of going to the gym Was at the gym before 7am to get a lower body workout in before work. That pain under the breastbone wasn’t terrible so popped some Ibuprofen and forged onward. Now it’s the afternoon, and I’m in so much pain. Tomorrow is a NO GYM day anyway so hopefully it subsides.

Day 85 of going to the gym I pulled something yesterday. I actually heard it TEAR. I was getting off a machine not even using it. Once again, the gym bites me back. I did manage a 45 minute trek on the treadmill today. The pain is only under my breastbone, but a reminder that I have not conquered!

Day 84 of going to the gym Lower body workout today. I’m almost looking forward to just cardio tomorrow. That can’t be right. I hate the gym still, but I’m not despising it as much. Does that make sense?

Day 83 of going to the gym I worked my upper body so hard today. I better be able to hold my two week old grandbaby tomorrow or I’m gonna have to go all “Karen” on myself. Then again, the point of all this training is so that I can be around long enough to watch her grow up! This face!!

Day 82 of going to the gym I went with a plan today! I thrive with a plan! Warm-up 10 minutes on elliptical (I despise this machine). I did a full body workout targeting upper, lower body and core. One hour tops is all it takes! I created the workout on my own, but ChatGPT approved!

Day 81 of going to the gym Reckoning day - I was down 7lbs but 3lbs of it was muscle.🤦‍♀️ I have upped my lifting game so time to up the protein game. NOT having donuts will also be helpful! Isn’t it cookie baking season though?! Ugh!

Day 80 of going to the gym Plan A won!! I actually got to the gym by 6:30am. This is a huge feat for me. I did my warm-up/lower body workout and got out the door to my volunteer gig on time. To look at my planner and being able to delete Plan B & C make it all worth it!

True test of dedication will be tomorrow. Am I committed? Will I go to the gym before my morning appt? As someone with ADHD, I have a Plan A, Plan B and a Plan C. Nobody really expects me to be at the gym by 6:30am, most of all me. But who knows?

Day 79 of going to they gym I actually made a plan for this week with an app and a little help from ChatGPT. Today was a cardio day and I walked on treadmill with incline. I’m not fast, but I’m faster than I was. I’m not strong, but I’m stronger than I was. Progress is happening!

Day 78 of going to the gym I ate donuts all day yesterday and two before going to the gym. I’m in a sugar coma but some exercise helped me out of it. We are celebrating Thanksgiving next Thursday because my son will be here. I guess I should workout a lot this week!!

Day 77 of going to the gym I had a personal training session today and I quipped in my usual self-deprecating way that I was probs her least fave client because I’m weak. She responded you aren’t and you are mentally tougher than many because you keep coming back. I’m gonna wear that around a bit!

Day 76 of going to the gym I rode bike for 30 minutes. Not one other single thing. I need an actual plan I’m afraid. Getting there is half the battle, but any ideas for the other 50%?

Day 75 of going to the gym It’s been 3 days since I last went to the gym. I did have a grandbaby on Friday so I have an excuse! Today I went and I vow to go at least 5 days this week! One down, four more to go.

Day 74 of going to the gym I was supposed to have a training session at 7am. Ugh! She cancelled. Whew! I had physical therapy at 8:30 and I was going to hit the gym after that, but I went home instead. After languishing for an hour, I went to the gym and walked and did some leg work. ✅

Day 73 of going to the gym I was only going to ride bike for 15 minutes, random intensity. I rode 32.5 at random intensity. I then got on the adductor/abductor machine for 15 minutes. My PT calls this the “good girls/bad girls machine.” I can’t unhear that!😂

Day 72 of going to the gym I did it! Ten whole minutes on the elliptical! I then worked upper body for forty minutes. Please clap!

Day 71 of going to the gym To be fair to myself, I went to PT and did work upper body so I skipped the gym, gym yesterday. My trainer told me today that I’m doing great and sometimes we just have “down weeks.” It’s not bad to rest the body and mind. Today I worked hard and did feel a bit reset.

Day 70 of going to the gym I went! Didn’t wanna do it but I did. Did the elliptical to warm up and then all arms. Hopefully this puts me back in the groove. I’m going to be a grandma next week and I need my groove!!

Today marked 4 days of NOT going to the gym! Did I undo all of my hard work? I think 5 days in a row would be really bad. Like “crossing the streams” bad. If you get that reference, I love you!

Day 69 of going to the gym My trainer had me doing strength training today. Funny, I don’t feel strong yet. I also feel some depression creep in so I may take a few days off from the gym. I know I should go to help stave off depression, but right now, going makes me depressed.

Day 68 of going to the gym I had physical therapy today and went to the gym after. Didn’t want to go because my neck hurts. I ended up walking for 40 minutes on the treadmill. If I could just force myself to do more lifting. Still hate it if you’re wondering!

I’m skipping the gym today. Don’t judge me. I just can’t (don’t want to) do it.

Day 67 of going to the gym Squats are stupid. That is all!! Carry on.

Day 66 of going to the gym We hit the gym this morning and I was fully prepared to do the whole leg routine set up for me. But the last thing on the list was that stupid sled. I said “hells no!”

Day 65 of going to the gym Apparently I’ve lost weight this month, but it’s all muscle. Granted I didn’t gain any fat, but I didn’t lose any either. Time to step up my game with more strength training. I hope I have the energy!

Day 64 of going to the gym Really very uneventful except I didn’t want to go. But I did. Now I’m home and glad I went. These are my struggles!

Day 63 of going to the gym I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes at a .5 incline. My husband pointed out that HE did an actual in the mountain 5 mile hike today. His accomplishments do not outweigh mine! Just sayin’.

Day 62 of going to the gym I had to actually work on the bike to get my heart rate up today. I know that’s progress, but my legs are not feeling grateful.

Day 61 of going to the gym Walking on the treadmill is all I could muster today. I walked 40 minutes and I was sweating. In my book, just getting to the gym is my greatest accomplishment. Some days it’s just cardio and no strength training. Other days, it’s just cardio. It’s a win.

Day 60 of going to the gym I can’t believe I’ve done 60 days!! I am feeling stronger! I still hate it. I’m not sure that will ever change. Today I did an “assisted stretch.” It’s like torture only you pay for it. I suppose at this point, I’ll keep going.

Day 59 of going to the gym Is going to the bathroom to pee and also wait for your heart rate to come down from walking into the gym BEFORE getting on a treadmill considered “functional training” on my Apple Workout app? Serious question.

Day 58 of going to the gym My heart rate was very disagreeable today. No warm-up or cool-down when the heart just says, “I’m gonna race no matter what because this all sucks!” 🤷‍♀️

Day 57 of going to the gym Try the elliptical she says, it’s great for you she says. I did five minutes on that machine and then retreated to my bicycle. I also worked arms which was stupid because I had PhyTher in the afternoon and now I can’t move my arms!

Day 56 of going to the gym I didn’t want to go because it’s my birthday, but I had a trainer today so I had no choice. I told her it was my birthday so NO SLED! She complied but still had my heart rate soaring. Sweating sucks!

Day 55 of going to the gym Tempted not to go today because I sweated pretty hard at physical therapy. Went from PT to the gym and walked 35 minutes on the treadmill. My heart rate actually stayed in a decent range today. Oops, forgot my meds. That’s why my heart rate is low!🤦‍♀️

Day 54 of going to the gym I walked on the treadmill for 35 minutes while watching “Grease.” I wanted to sing along but was afraid someone in a very stern voice would say, “if you can sing, you aren’t working hard enough.” So I saved my breath for……well breathing.
