Sparse hierarchical voxel nodes are used to narrow down which voxels to generate triangles for. I use branching factors (8, 8, 4), so one highest-level node, or "chunk", contains to 256 voxels. I can't animate for the life of me, so my solution is to set up procedural secondary motion using Boing Kit and write a tiny puppeteer script to control the character's position and rotation with just the mouse. #BoingKit #MadeWithUnity #GameDev #VFX

MudBun supports a 2D mode. In 2D marching cubes becomes marching squares. In this sonic spin dash demo, the smoke effects still look pretty decent in 2D mode with vertex normals, compared to its 3D counterpart, but with far less vertices. #MudBun #MadeWithUnity #GameDev #VFX
