This has to be my favourite scrap box save so far. He was in a sorry state when I found him, or her. I believe it's a badge from the Monmouthshire Regiment, others are similar. A territorial infantry regiment formed in 1859, and lost its separate identity in 1967.

A few thimbles that have been through the tumbler. Why do we find so many? I don't really know. I've heard of sacks being sewn up, or young girls practicing their needlework in the field, whilst father is working on the land.

Depending on the face value of a coin of Elizabeth I, it may, or may not have a date on the reverse. If not we can use the mint mark to date it (the character before Elizabeth) Cross Crosslet 1560-1 Pheon 1561-5 Lion 1566-7 Sword 1582 In total 28 were used

My largest hammered coins, 1354-1643. 4 Groats, (4 pence) of Edward III, Henry VI, and 2 of Edward IV. 2 shillings (12 pence) of Charles I. And finally in the centre, a Thistle Merk (13 shillings & 4 pence, Scottish) of James VI of Scotland.

Marvellous, woke up to a flat tyre on car. Took it to tyre bay, unrepairable, and that one not in stock. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Now the 2nd in less than a week, done a van tyre on Wednesday 😂🤣
