Why do people continue to insist that Covid inflation *wasn't* transitory? Yes, it took longer to decelerate, but CPI peaked at 9.1% in the summer of 2022 and troughed at 2.4% in September if 2024. If that's not transitory, then what it?

Financial TV interviews with a CEO, especially after earnings, are like a sideline interview with an NFL coach rushing off the field at halftime. No real insight, no real interest in the question, nothing you're going to remember 30 minutes later.

OpenAI with another 10 GW deal ... To remind, 1 GW costs $60 billion to deploy. OpenAI has made deals for 26 GW over the past two weeks. So ... that's a $1.6 trillion commit for a company that had H1 revenue of $4.3 billion. This. Is. A. Bubble.

Huang: I GW of compute will require $50 to $60 billion to establish. OpenAI wants to establish 250 GW of compute. It had $4.3 billion in H1 revenues. The maths isn't mathing.

I know these details are tiresome, but Japan did not, in fact, just elect its first female prime minister. Sanae Takaichi was elected leader of the Liberal Democratic Party and is *expected to become* prime minister. But someone else is in that job right now.

Yesterday on CNBC the FCC Chairman was asked to reconcile his prior posts opposing censorship. (Props to

Guy on TV says NDVA investment in INTC wasn't prompted by the government. A few seconds later he says it won't come good for about three years. So, yeah, I'd say most companies dump $5 billion into a money-losing company in the hopes of a 3-year payroff.
