So glad the snow held off so we could celebrate Megan E. Freeman and her newest best seller Away. It was a packed room at the Boulder Bookstore last night with both adults and her adoring kid fans.

Alan Gratz wrote a great book about a not great topic: book banning. I wish adults could use the same common sense as these fourth graders. Maybe adults want to ban books because they can’t seem to control the important issues like school safety, social media, and meeting basic needs.

I finally got to experience Kaz Windness sharing Bitsy Bat with a group of children at the new Barnes and Noble in Superior. The kids were thrilled when she got down on the floor and showed them how she drew one of the characters. I left with a new book for my home library.
