15th May 2026 We chased a couple of enthusiastic storms in SE Nebraska.

Fire starter storms. Lightning started multiple fires in SW Kansas. There is a trail of fires at least 60 miles long from these storms. 14th May 2026

13th May 2026 Finally finished the tasks we had set ourselves for completion in May, had morning tea (Panera), tripped over Brandon Ivey and his tour guests, and wandered west to Pratt to set up for storms tomorrow.

11th May 2026 Wandering north back into Kansas. Storms to the east tomorrow so today we played tourist.

Photodump from today’s stormchase in the Watonga area of Oklahoma. 8th May 2026 We headed for Kingfisher and watched a field of congesting cumulus for half an hour then spotted a standalone storm moving towards Watonga. The storm intensified rapidly just E of town. We let it go to Oklahoma City.

28th April 2026 This morning we headed off on public transport at an ungodly hour to the USA to go stormchasing. Bus - train - bus - plane - plane - shuttle. That’s just today to get to the west coast. Tomorrow will be shuttle - plane - plane - hire car to pick up our car.

28th March 2026 Walking home and I was stopped by this local. No fear from the local magpies.

27th March 2026 Grubby “What did you just put in the toaster?” Looks down at toaster, looks up at me. (wild cockatoo who has been visiting for years. Sits outside on our kitchen windowsill and supervises)

26th March 2026 Jane G and I took to the rather damp streets of Melbourne CBD today. We managed to fit coffee and cake and lunch in between a touch of shopping (yay bookshops!!!) and some photography. We probably walked between 5 & 6 kms. Next day out already in the planning stages!!

21st March 2026 Excitement today in our own backyard!! Clyve found that an echidna (adult) had “parked” between our bins. We gave him some time and he neatly reversed out and then wandered under the gate and into the backyard. Watching him scratch was funny. #lifeinacountrytown
