Political Scientist . 🏖️🌊🧘🏾♂️🎣🇲🇽🇺🇸. Political Science, soccer, & Astros commentary
I cleared a massive paper jam from our department printer today. Where do I list this on my CV & faculty activity report? I’m confident most professors couldn’t have fixed it, so this must meet “exemplary” status 🤔

While I’m glad Comets are returning, I’m disappointed it’s b/c another community is losing their team. It seems the relocation angered the sports gods b/c this has been a rough week for Houston pro teams & Cougars.

My summer 2026 plans were to attend men’s World Cup games in the 3 host nations. Those plans are out b/c of the FIFA grift. The scam is to offer a few tickets (low supply) when there is high demand. Hence, they inflate prices. I’ll wait until they’re stuck with overpriced tickets & cut prices

My colleagues & I built the greatest Learning Communities program in higher education. No campus could rival the scope of our program. A spring 2025 administrative decree ended the last vestiges of a once great program & it’s gone for fall 2025. I predict we’ll experience a ⬇️ in student success 😔

Call for Papers: PS Special Issue: “Immigration and Elections”
Deadline: February 1, 2025. As the pace of global migration accelerates, immigration has become a significant issue in electoral politics in almost every corner of the world. Debates on immigration have taken center stage in campaigns and elections, and the pace of xenophobic attacks on immigrant communities has accelerated, with politicians wielding (often false) claims about immigrants to wage and win electoral campaigns.
