Video games like to put tips on their loading screens. It is an underdiscussed problem that consoles and PCs are now so fast that loading screens on older games go so fast that you have no time to read the tips anymore.

This book from 1987 is about people like Mort Sahl, Lenny Bruce, Second City, early SNL, National Lampoon, you get the idea. It’s nearly fascinating, except that the author keeps calling this stuff “Boomer humor” and talking about how cool and counter-cultural Baby Boomers are.
