I can’t stress enough how incredible this record is — it sounds like a New Orleans funeral march on steroids.

I’m not the biggest fan of Queen, but these two albums are amazing, and Brian May deserves a bit more recognition as an inventive rock guitarist.

The band The Dead C have spent nearly four decades as pioneers of noise rock and experimental sound, systematically deconstructing the conventions of rock music. This album is called The Twelfth Spectacle.

I recently bought this excellent 4-LP set from the European tour manager of The Dead C. It consists of four handnumbered LPs, each featuring a different live recording, released in 2014 on the label of singer-songwriter Simon Joyner.

Available again soon on vinyl. I think it’s one of Bob’s best albums.

Kevin Gray is overrated.

Finally got around to watching One Battle After Another. Great movie with some pretty spot-on nods to present-day America — DiCaprio is great as a washed-up activist, and Sean Penn is wild as a deranged military hardass. This is the best and most important bathrobe film since The Big Lebowski.

I don’t know who Geoffrey Weiss is, but he definitely has an impressive record collection. "This whole row is New Zealand punk and new wave". Original Sun Ra, Alex Chilton, very rare punk, and pretty much everything else. Plus lots of anecdotes as well.
