One thing I’ve noticed: AI communities often give me more creative freedom. I’ve always disliked being told what I can or can’t use. I can use whatever tools I want to help me create, instead of having to worry whether a community approves of them. Creativity comes first. The tools are just tools.

Claude, and programs like it, may take jobs away. But they are also creating jobs. This always happens with technology.

It allows me, a non-programmer, the ability to create complex apps. But I still have to spend hours, days, or weeks carefully designing, thinking and constructing a thing. You can't just press a button and then it fulfills your imagination. It takes work. But it's a different kind of work.

A comment about AI programming (claude): there are so many naysayers that feel we're on the verge on some sort of AI apocalypse--that it will take over the world. My POV: Claude is an awesome tool, but it's not creative. I have to carefully guide it through multiple iterations.

I’m saddened to see that Sora as a platform is shutting down. While it was not the most advanced video AI, it had a unique way of sparking creativity between users with the remix and character functionality. It felt a lot like creative improv in a way. The quality was all over the place though.

The word “slop” has completely lost all meaning these days. It’s now just used to describe anything someone doesn’t like, & most folks using it aren’t arguing in good faith or with any real objectivity. It adds nothing. It means nothing. I’ve muted the word permanently. I’m just done with it.
