I have my Roxie girl’s final appointment scheduled for Wednesday. I’m at the barn with her right now and she’s needing help getting back up after a nap. This is not sustainable. My heart is absolutely shattered.

Roxie went down again today so this is our last bit of time with her. I can’t have her suffer. I hate to ask for help but this year has been a cluster. I have to pay the vet and the cremation company ( can’t bury where we are because of water) If you wish to help, I’ll put my info below. 💔

Roxie managed to get stuck laying down in the pasture today - she was at a weird angle and couldn’t roll herself up without help. Afterwards, she calmly walked back to the barn, tried to fight another horse, drank some water, and then yelled at me for dinner. What am I even supposed to do now?

I was listening to Dave Matthews Band while cleaning my room and Monkey Moo started howling and barking and wouldn’t stop until I changed the music. So someone needs to come get this dog. Immediately. I won’t stand for DMB hate in this house! (Obviously, I’m kidding. Mostly 😂)

Dear old Misty is the queen of naps

The horses decided to break into the barn and demolish all of our hay. They destroyed/ate 75% of what we needed to get through the rest of the month. 😑😑😑😑

Lazy Saturday morning after a late night at the barn. We are down to one vehicle and my daughter needs it for work so I am basically on night shift for barn duties. The horses do not care - it’s basically the same schedule as during the summer. Different outfit though - I’m cold lol

As someone who gets very overstimulated with too much noise, having a heeler and a hound dog in the house is way too much some days. They’re so happy. And LOUD.

This cold snap has me feeling like I need to stay cozy. I basically moved from the bed to the couch and I’m wrapped in a blanket with a cup of coffee. I do not want to be productive today at all.

My dear Roxie is really showing her age (28) lately. She’s had a couple of bad days followed by some good days. I don’t want to think about making the choice for her, but I might have to soon. She’s not gaining weight, her poo is massively runny, and no matter what, she isn’t getting any younger.

The Not My Donkey Crew diligently protected me from my own dog yesterday 😂😂 Jenny, the youngest, was the most protective - she kept putting herself between me and Sabo. Honestly, so cute…but that’s my dog lol

Sabo had a very busy barn day today. Lots of running and yelling and more running. He is currently passed out snoring next to me. 💕💕

Not My Dog - Lila She’s a dachshund/terrier mix and she’s not technically supposed to sleep in bed with me. But I can’t say no to that face. (Her owner is fine with it, she’s just worried I’ll be annoyed. As if lol)

Nighttime check with one of my all time favorite Not My Horse - Joy. She’s always been a polite mare but over the years I like to think she’s gotten to know me. Tonight, she asked for hugs and just wanted to rest her head near my chest for a while. My whole heart is melted. I love her 💕

One of my friends dropped by the barn with some horse blankets (yay!) and You Know thought this would be the PERFECT time to show everyone he knows how to give kisses. The problem is he didn’t warn me first so I basically turned around to a horse nose in my face 😂😂 These horses are aooooo funny 😂

Freya got her teeth done and was pretty heavily sedated - I went to check on her and got this out of character behavior lol She is on another planet 😂😂

So thankful I had enough money left after bills to get two horse dentals done today. With such a large herd I have to space things out due to budget. Our vet is at the barn every single month and is always so amazing with the mob 💕

Walked out to do night check and managed to get VERY close to a herd of deer without us seeing each other. They suddenly moved, I yelled in surprise, they ran off, offended. 😂 Got into the barn and this sweet mare was all “you good? Great. I need more hay” 😂😂😂

I was digging through old pics today and I think this is the first time I rode Roxie. At the time, she belonged to someone else - 3 months later and she was mine. My first mare. My best girl. I got so damn lucky. Also, peep Nibblet in the background lol

House/farm sitting for friends the next couple of days and this handsome gentleman will be keeping me company. His name is Oscar and I love him - he used to be a barn cat and then decided that wasn’t the life for him 😂😂
