We had frost last week. Lost all but one cucumber plant on the upper deck. The greens were in the cockpit and fared better, harvesting and will restart everything over the next few days.

My experience with bluesky help has been pretty lame. I have several people I follow who do not show up in my feeds. They are large prominent accounts. Something is amiss and bsky help seems determined to avoid defining the problem accurately.

There’s a night heron on the upper deck. They are noisy and pooped in my spinach 😡 a few nights ago. #boatproblems

Set a challenge to make a set of tumblers, my first time. Learned a lot. Upside down drying. Happy with the experimentation on the bowl edges. Still sorting out texture and bases. Letting my limited hand capacity guide the process instead of fighting it. Makes it all a pleasant journey.

Argh. New impeller in the water maker was easy, lift pump works again. But water is leaking like crazy - guessing it is a worn seal between motor and high pressure pump. Complete disassembly from case is required. Membranes are pickled for many more months, so the time pressure on repair is relaxed.

This carcass will be on the bike path for many days. The vultures are SO excited. I’m fascinated- their fear of cars and people is tempered by their appetite. At one point there were 2 cars in each direction inching by, the birds wouldn’t budge.

Hot tip: when you are wandering through a marina as a guest, going down the finger docks to get a closer look at a boat is the equivalent of going up a private driveway and peeking in the front windows.

One of is comfy. We are both covered in dog hair.

Smooooth water tonight

Had a really good neurology appt today after 6 month wait. “You have options.” What a relief. Had to leave Mayo clinic Jax to find responsive Trigeminal Neuralgia care at USF. This is the first neurologist in 6 years who treated me with empathy, no sarcasm, responded to all my questions thoroughly.

Thank goodness, finally.

Another cottage on Jekyll

The beautiful “cottages” in the historic district are state owned and some have nice porch furniture for lounging about. This one has a lovely view of the water, and Zoey gets some much needed lawn time. We get to have a snack and enjoy pretending we have a big house for a bit.

His and hers cups and mugs still drying. Have never used this particular clay, glazing will be an adventure.
