The water pump on the 47 year old 13kwh generator was not working for good reason 🥴 we have a shiny new one to install, but the whole unit is a rusting bucket of steel, and noisy AF. I’m fine with our solar array, and the portable gen. Times have changed.

MFers putting crab pots in and on the channel line. 😡 😩 A problem because the float is attached to the cage by a line that can get wrapped around your propeller potentially causing thousands in damage if you don’t spot it. Difficult in choppy conditions.

While we had the windlass access open last night we detached this non-functional clock that was HOT 😱 in the back. Vintage RadioShack.

omfg what a day. Up since 3am, 10 hours at the helm, and then once we landed, we drilled a bigger hole in the bow, ran new wires, and replaced the windlass foot pedal. Protected from possible drizzles with a baggie and painter’s tape while it cures. (Always have a stash of 5200 iykyk.)

Heading back to 🇺🇸. Windlass foot switch malfunctioned 🚨and wouldn’t shut off when pulling up the anchor this morning 😅, we have a spare on board, but we’ll grab a marina slip tonight to make the repair and get a night of good rest. 8 more hours. A nice calm ride so far.

So we are on the upper deck doing yoga, and Zoey wants up, but we are busy. She whines. She barks. And then, SHE APPEARS. She climbed this ladder. All 13.5 lbs of her. 🤯

So we had a little drama at 3am under high winds, our anchor suddenly broke from the bottom after being stable for 36 hrs. It was a shit show. We barely avoided grounding, had less than a foot under the keel. We moved through the anchorage to deeper water, set the anchor and dragged again…
