When the rulers of Rome grew wealthy and corrupt and took pleasure in persecution for sport...the wise ones abandoned their wealth, renounced their status and fled unto the desert. They found Spiritual Growth through corporal self-discipline.

Renounce Riches and your treasure will grow in the Spirit.

It's the existence of Wealth that brings Poverty into existence.

You can have money in your pocket and Nature will still kill you. She does not care about your silly numbered game tokens.

The Rule of addiction is tortuously despotic with no crueler tyrant than your own desire.

Trekking across the wilderness draws out the purest prayer. Small treks build wisdom for larger treks. Become intimate with the land; learn it's sinuosity and resident forms in all seasons. In time you hear the spirit world; the embodied and incorporeal citizens of the wild wood become you allies.

I intentionally get lost in order to find myself. I renounce technology and rely on cooperating with nature. She guides my instincts. She reveals the meandering path through the chaotic landscape and brings me home safe.

What feelings I experience walking alone in silence deep into a forest wilderness beyond this lake. A primal part of me is hyper aware; softly treading, watchful and listening intently to the community of life. I transcend beyond concern of worldly affairs. All that matters is the present journey.
