There’s another layer where you save brainpower by delegating the typing after rubber-ducking, but I digress… AI is super helpful, using it is its own craft. Also, the craft of coding still matters.

Seems like interest in coding as a craft is waning. We need to collectively overindulge in the fantasy that maintainability doesn’t matter anymore before we can course correct, though. In the meantime I’m having a hard time finding the motivation to write about code.

Indenting private methods tells you what the intended access policy is without having to orient yourself inside the class. Specially useful when reviewing diffs and you’re not even shown the full context by default. This is why it’s my preference in Ruby.
