“I am…coming around to the idea that some trinkets can be appealing. Perhaps humans did not have it all wrong.” There were so many things that could set him off. Triggers, Jo explained they were called. But somehow even the stars didn’t bother him when he was around her. >

“I know. And black holes. Stars give the illusion of permanence. It’s romantic in that way.” There were dreams and memories mashing into one. He treasured them both in equal measure. “May I take you shopping again? We can select the crystals together?”

Steps closer. Rubbing her back. "I do apologize. I do not wish to see you distraught. Tell me what I can do to make it up to you."

"An excellent suggestion. I hadn't considered the crystals. That is why I need you, Johanna." He did indeed see the hula hooping and belly dancing but he did not judge Jo for it. If anything, it was mild compared to the dreams of hers he'd already seen.

"When you slept, I was on your phone browsing that short form video app. They made a garden that glows under moon light. The idea was that you plant white and light colored plants, such as silver ragwort, and they are more likely to reflect the light of the moon. I thought it would be nice."

“Tonight then. We can try to get the foxgloves in. I also need another turquoise candle. The one you gave me is spent.” He shimmers through the portal, and on the other side; his clothes changed to a black tee shirt and sunglasses. It was hot today.

"Speaking of the garden, I added black irises to it. And some more black dahlias." He had a lot of making up to do. But the ghosts of York were a good start. "Shall we start at the apothecary shop?"

"That part is right, she is too good for me. But you should be glad she is bossy. She likes to put me in my place."

What little compassion he was showing quickly turned sour. “Do not call her that. She is a remarkable woman.”

“You know I am prone to bouts of melancholy. But my love for you never dims.” He brushed her hair back behind her ear. “May I take you shopping? I’ve been thinking about that little ghost shop in York.”

Looks at his sibling. His brows furrow. He sensed the hurt. “Have you met anyone of late? Perhaps you need more trips to the other realms. You always were better at socializing than me.”

He held her face, kissing her slow. When he pulled back, he placed a soft kiss on her perfect nose. “I have missed you, my Queen. Have you kept yourself busy?”

“I am sorry you are some, but you know how I hold grudges. Perhaps this is that karma humans speak of?”

His hair looks ridiculous. He either did nothing to it, or spent an hour sitting it. “I missed you bossing me around.” He tipped her chin up to kiss her.

“If that is too much, I could always create a dream for you with visual aids.”

“Why not? Shouldn’t you be happy your brother has found someone?”

“That is the best place for dreams, yes.”
