i think dragon quest 8 works for me so well because of that sense of journey that's embedded into it. the main plot never feels like it takes too much away from my personal decision to go off a beaten path or spend extra time running around an area and feeling out the vibe

dragon quest 8 contains a level of whimsy that i never thought i'd feel from a video game again it is so sublime

incredible beach. doesn't face west so you aren't getting the full blast of the sun set but the vibes are still immaculate

ninja gaiden 2 is an incredible action game. it is brilliant in all the right ways. it is also kind of boring to play because how just how good and solid it is. if i play it for more than 30 minutes i need to do something else immediately because of how little there is to think about
