Legendary Eagles TE Pete Pihos served in the US Army from January 1944 to September 1945. He achieved the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, earning Bronze and Silver Stars for his bravery. Pihos went on to be drafted by the Eagles in 1947, where he was a key member of both the 1948 and 1949 NFL champions.

Charle Young (1951 - 2026) Former Eagles TE Charle Young passed away Tuesday, according to the social media of the 49ers (for whom Young played in the 1980s). The sixth overall pick in 1973, Young earned AP1 honors as a rookie, and caught 12 touchdowns in four seasons in Philly. Rest in peace.

April 30, 2011 The 6th-round steal With the 191st overall pick, the Eagles choose purportedly-undersized Cincinnati center Jason Kelce. Championed by grizzled OL coach Howard Mudd, Kelce becomes a fixture on the Eagles line, earning six AP1s, a Super Bowl ring, and a surefire trip to Canton.

April 28, 2022 The first AJ trade Minutes after drafting Jordan Davis, the Eagles trade their other first round pick to the Titans for Pro Bowl wideout AJ Brown. Brown quickly becomes Jalen Hurts’ top target, making two Pro Bowls en route to two Super Bowl appearances and one win.

April 24, 2020 Make It Hurts A stunning development at the time, the Eagles select Jalen Hurts 53rd overall in the second round of the 2020 Draft. Carson Wentz remains Eagles starter during a dismal 2020 campaign, but gets benched in favor of Hurts that December. The rest is history.

With the 20th overall pick (acquired from Dallas via trade), the Eagles select Makai Lemon, WR from USC. At 5’11 and 195 pounds, Lemon is considered a crisp route runner, earning comps to Amon-Ra St. Brown and Garrett Wilson. He racked up 1156 yards and 13 total TDs last season.

In the 2010 NFL Draft, edge rushers Brandon Graham and Jason Pierre-Paul were selected two spots apart (13th and 15th overall). To date, BG (LII, LIX) and JPP (XLVI, LV) are the only two defensive players that have beaten both Tom Brady *and* Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl.
