This weekend, I nearly finished a new app for my September pipeline. It includes iCloud sync, sharing, code, QR, and barcode integration, plus foundation models for local AI processing. The new iOS 26 APIs offer countless possibilities.

In my spare moments, I've been turbocharging my apps, Undolly and BOXY, for iOS 26. The first two betas are hot off the press and ready for testing. Your feedback will help me roll out the ultimate updates for the iOS 26 launch.

WWDC was great. One key takeaway for my apps is the importance of metrics. Building something without data makes the work impossible. However, metrics come with two issues: they can stifle innovation and compromise privacy.

I use a bullet journal daily but struggled with managing digital links. Bookmark folders? Overwhelming. Long URLs? Impossible to remember. Complex apps? Not for me. So, I built something different. Something... numbered 🔢 Stay tuned.

Discovered a new API at 3 a.m. and implemented it. This morning, I added the missing translations, and now it's awaiting Apple's review. I may not make any profit from it, but I love feeling this passion.

Vision might be one of Apple's best frameworks. I keep discovering new tools within it. Yesterday, thanks to www.createwithswift.com/, I found another tool that helped me eliminate some manual work I was doing for Undolly.

I've been silent for a few weeks. I went through a phase of experimenting with Bazel and losing motivation, but now I'm back! Undolly has already been submitted to Apple's app review 🚀. Here are some final pre-release updates:

I worked on Undolly onboarding over the weekend. Analysis begins as soon as you grant permissions, so when you open the main app screen, you're ready to go. It only takes a few seconds, but it significantly enhances the experience.

I took a break from Undolly to recharge with family and friends. Breaks help maintain balance and gain fresh perspectives. Now I'm refreshed and ready to resolve a crash issue. It's great to be back and engaged with the project.

Spent some time today working on Undolly, and it's progressing well. There's still a lot to do, but I'm aiming for a year-end release. It will help clean galleries filled with Christmas photos. 🎄📸

One thing I’m doing different is I won’t show all the groups at once. I can do it, today devices are super fast and I can scan 10k photos in a few minutes but I want to have a focused UI with as much space as possible to focus on one task: decide from a given group of similar photos which to keep

Things like: is the person in the image smiling? Is there a pet? And of course technical aspects like color, brightness… How to give users all this power to make the best decisions while keeping the UI clean… tricky and fun

For Undolly I’ve created a deep quality analisis of each image that I intent to share with users and I also want to offer options to compare images and different UI options

The most difficult part so far with my new app is the UI. I want to offer a good UI so users can choose what photos they want to delete from a given set of duplicates. Most apps solve it with a grid but that makes images super small to see relevant differences.

So today I just completed the next step towards making my next app: I extracted CoreData stack with CloudKit to a Swift package. I used the opportunity to make it Swift concurrency safe and boy it was hard. My plan is to continue building a stack that helps me create apps faster and enjoy the ride
