I was asked suddenly if I could appear wearing the Qifrey cloak for the video. It was nerve-wracking to stand in front of Motomura-san, but great fun. I've actually worn it several times to film reference for Qifrey for the show!

Fuck clankers. There is no ethical use of Gen-AI in it's current form, I just dont understand how people who enjoy media in any form can form the opinion that Gen-AI in any form is morally correct.

As far as I know, I'm the first Norwegian to work in the anime industry, and that is kind of a crazy thing for me. The only other I am aware of, is that Ole Løken worked on Henry Thurlow's One Piece episode a few years ago.

Yesterday's "official" inktober theme was "ragged". I misread it as "rugged", and ended up drawing something completely different... oh well.

Finding out my older brother is an AI stan really shook something in me. For someone who is not a creative, its so hard to express how the act of creating is important, not only the result/product. This is why I've seriously started disliking the word "content" when it comes to media.

For 2025 I am trying to reclaim my motivation to draw. Of course, I draw every day, all day at work. Its when I get home, the will to draw anything for myself, that I feel the struggle. At the very least, 1 finished illustration every month, with supplementing sketches and roughs.

Oh lol... For the new "Dondon" software thing. We had "Shu" (the tech dude) visiting our studio last year, trying to get feedback on this AI inbetween thing from animators here. I find that pretty funny. I also find it dystopian.

Biggest threat from Gen AI is ignorant consumers. When people think AI looks "good enough" because they lack any knowledge about the medium they consume, it lowers the bar. They don't know what good composition means, they don't care about how stuff looks as long as its "passable".

GenAI has polluted image search results, especially for animal pics. It’s now basically impossible to find accurate art references. Enter this: a repository of open-access, AI-free images of wild & exotic taxa. Artists creating *without AI* have blanket permission for derivative/transformative use.

Finished Tears of the Kingdom yesterday, and my main impression while playing was: "Man, Breath of the Wild was so good!" I did love the Depths (it was wasted potential though, it should've been 1/6th of it's size), and the story was way more involving than Breath's. Also Ganondorf? Always hot af.

Some life-drawing for the first time in ages. Want to get more back into the habit of drawing outside of work again, this year.

Rewatching Time Team, and my own little game is to look up the place they're digging on Google Maps, turn on satelite view (so overhead photos), and follow the dig, and trench placements as the episode goes on. I love reading maps, and this makes both map reading, and watching Time Team, more fun!

Very frustated at the current anime pipeline of "We will fix it in retakes", and not actually trying to make something good from the start 🙃 Any effort spent on making good genga is ruined by foreign (and domestic) 12-24hr douga, which always happens because storyboarder hogged the entire schedule.

I met Igarashi Yuki today. I've followed him for like 10 years, and he's been such an inspiration for me as an artist. His lines, and shapes are so good! Being a part of the Twin Engine group is awesome..! It took me so much courage to go over and talk to him, but I'm so glad I did!!

Been using the Razer Tartarus at the studio. Today I brought my prized out-of-production Logitech G13 to work... and there are so many buttons. I can bind shortcuts to my heart's content!
